The Next Turn
Croatia will take viewers on a journey through this incredibly diverse country. Starting in the south, in the world famous Dubrovnik, our host will introduce themselves and the episode. They will show their excitement to explore the country but also informing the audience that they haven’t been told what they will be doing! With Croatia being one of the premiere sailing destinations on the planet, and a plethora of idyllic islands that cannot be miss, their journey begins by boarding a 50ft catamaran, captained by our Croatian skipper, Goran. Goran takes us on a journey up the coast from Dubrovnik to Split, stopping by idyllic islands along the way; some well known islands like Hvar could feature, with a fly-by mention of world’s second largest stone wall in Ston. After some wild adventures on the boat and absorbing the culture of the islands, the crew pull into the famous city of Split, which can be explored by night or day in unique ways. In Split, vehicles are picked up and the host starts road-tripping up the coast. They make stops at places of interest along the way, where we take in the beautiful sights while learning about various cultural aspects of Croatia, such as traditional salt harvesting. With a healthy tan and salty hair, the crew head inland, to an area full of beautiful lakes and rivers, promoting Croatia as a “Green Destination”. The host is immersed in nature and can learn about the importance of ecotourism and protecting wild spaces. While inland, the host could turn their focus to some of the culinary and cultural offerings. The peninsula of Istria to the west opens up opportunities to experience the olive and wine harvests while also sampling the local hospitality we could also partake in unique experiences like truffle hunting. This region is ripe for architectural intrigue due to its prehistoric ties. Our exploration of Croatia culminates in Pula, with a sunset exit interview in front of the ancient Arena where our host reflects on their time in the country and encourages viewers to craft their own journey through Croatia to experience everything it has to offer.
