(Los Angeles, CA) – Bella Guatemala Travel (BGT) extends a warm welcome to travelers from around the world to discover the beautiful Land of the Mayas. Returning once more to the 2016 San Diego Travel and Adventure Show on January 16 and 17, BGT will present renowned and experienced travel experts, colorful Mayan crafts, live music and dynamic dance performances to showcase Guatemala’s rich culture and heritage.

Bella Guatemala Travel will be flourishing at booth 512 at the San Diego Travel and Adventure Show. Guatemalan travel specialists will be on hand to provide information and details about Guatemala and BGT’s upcoming tours, including its exclusive Easter Processional Spring Tour and Dia de los Muertos Giant Kites Fall Tour. Also at the BGT booth will be the must-see backstrap looming demonstrations by the celebrated Maya Weavers.

In addition, Bella Guatemala Travel’s own tour guides and travel experts will be featured at the Destination Theater for speakers’ session to share their passion and personal experiences from exploring the Land of the Mayas. Both speakers will be presenting at the Destination Theater on Saturday, January 16 from Noon to 12:30 p.m. and on Sunday, January 17 from 2:30-3:00 p.m.

• Jose Antonio Gonzalez, Archaeological Explorer (Guatemala and Latin America) Jose Antonio Gonzalez is an international explorer, an archaeologist and a notable expedition leader based in Guatemala. Over the course of more than 20 years, he’s explored nearly every corner of the Mayan regions of Mesoamerica including Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Honduras, as well as the countries of Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia, Peru, Chile and Cuba. He is an expert in Mayan culture and history.

Emilio Faillace , Naturalist/Environmentalist (Guatemala and Latin America) Emilio Faillace is a prominent, international tour leader from Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. For over 10 years, he has been guiding tours through the Mayan world, exploring countries including Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras. With a degree from the Univerisdad del Valle de Guatemala and over a decade of firsthand experience, he has an extensive background in ecotourism and sustainable tourism.

“I am honored and excited to share my experiences,” said Jose Antonio Gonzalez. “I am lucky to have been able to explore the rich archeological heritage of Mesoamerica for so many years. Guatemala, in particular, is a unique and beautiful country with a rich culture.”

A vibrant and lively culture, Guatemalan folkloric dance reflects ancient Maya, Spanish and African cultures. Elaborate costumes, ceremonial mask and traditional Guatemalan fashion come to life with the authentic rhythms of marimbas, flutes and drums. Bella Guatemala Travel will showcase a special dance performance from Imagenes Folkloricas Guatemaltecas as well as a live performance by an authentic Guatemalan marimba band on the Global Beats Stage, both days of the travel show.
