MILFORD, CT (2/3/2012) – Unicomm LLC, producer of the nation’s leading travel show series, wraps up January with back-to-back record-breaking attendance for its Los Angeles and Chicago Travel & Adventure Shows cumulating over 43,000 travel enthusiasts. The Los Angeles Show set an industry-wide record for attendance at a travel show of 25,800, with Chicago generating a show record of 17,300. Together, the two shows rose a combined 37.5% percent in paid admissions.

“These were two of the most successful shows in our history,” said John Golicz, CEO of Unicomm. “Consumer confidence is rising and coming back in travel with a vengeance. We are excited that our re-charged marketing strategies and investments, coupled with the relentless professionalism of our speakers and staff have so significantly increased our exhibitors ROI on these events.”

Show Organizers touted the significant increase in demographics shown in both markets. The LA & Chicago Travel & Adventure Shows saw a combined 44,000+ attendees, 49% had HHI of +$100,000, 68%+ fell into 35 -65 year old age group and over 46% spent over $5,000 on travel. “Our events have seen a renewed vigor in attendance over the last two years as we shifted our media from newsprint to broadcast, but we are pleased our efforts attracted such a high increase in quality attendees,” stated Mr. Golicz

New and returning exhibitors recognized the return on investment from being at the shows. “To put a number to it, I would estimate half a million dollars from Los Angeles and a quarter of a million dollars from Chicago,” said James Weis, Owner & CEO, Eyes on Africa, Travel & Safari.

Another returning exhibitor, Robert J. Price, Senior Sales Manager Leisure Travel, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, called it a “…can’t miss show. This has been the best show yet. We’re definitely coming back next year and may even buy a second booth and bring more of our hotel partners. It’s the busiest and most productive travel show in Chicago.”

Headline speakers drew standing room only audiences at both events. In Los Angeles travel celebrities, Samantha Brown and Andrew Zimmern drew over 800 to the on show floor Travel & Adventure Theater. Author Patricia Schultz, CBS Travel Reporter Peter Greenberg and Travel Expert Pauline Frommer also packed the house. Similarly in Chicago Samantha Brown, Patricia Schultz and emmy award winning television host Mark DeCarlo filled the theater to max capacity.

With both the San Francisco/Bay Area and Washington DC Travel & Adventure Shows still to come, Mr. Golicz is predicting a substantial resurgence of Americans traveling; “as the nation’s leading producer of travel shows, we are embedded in the tourism industry and touch both exhibitors and consumers 365 days a year.
